• Prepare and update drafting documentation and As-Built records for SXU, MXU, and NGM networks using CAD, ArcGIS, and SpatialNet.
• Maintain accurate GIS maps and network asset layouts reflecting as-built conditions.
• Validate drafting and As-Built data for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with project standards.
• Create and maintain cross-sections, annotations, dimensions, and utility adjustments in CAD.
• Support field and engineering teams by providing accurate drafting outputs and As-Built updates.
• Maintain proper version control and documentation of all drafting deliverables.

Educational Qualification

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication, Geoinformatics, GIS, Drafting Technology, or a related technical discipline.
• Certification in AutoCAD, GIS, or SpatialNet (preferred but not mandatory).

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in telecom drafting, GIS mapping, or As-Built documentation for SXU/MXU/NGM or similar fiber network environments.
• Experience working with CAD, ArcGIS, and SpatialNet in real-world telecom or utility projects.
• Prior experience supporting field survey teams or engineering teams for network documentation is an added advantage.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with CAD, ArcGIS, and SpatialNet for telecom network drafting and As-Built documentation.
• Strong knowledge of SXU, MXU, and NGM network drafting and As-Built standards.
• Basic understanding of fiber network layout, utilities, and infrastructure placement.

Key Responsibilities

Network Planning & Architecture Design — P408 Fiber Distribution Planning

• Design fiber distribution plans from FDH (Fiber Distribution Hub) to entire FSA coverage areas.
• Place centralized MPT (Multi-Port Terminals) and splice locations strategically throughout service areas.
• Calculate meterage for existing underground duct infrastructure (MH to MH).
• Assess rod and rope requirements for existing conduit capacity.
• Produce P408 design drawings in CAD and PDF formats for review and approval.

FDH Site Selection & Placement

• Analyze feeder routes and FSA requirements to determine optimal FDH placement.
• Evaluate and propose three suitable FDH locations for client review.
• Prepare and submit FDH placement proposals for approval.
• Produce finalized FDH placement designs post-approval.
• Deliver complete FDH drawings in DWG and PDF formats.

Feeder Fiber Route Design

• Design fiber feeder routes from CO/meet-me points to proposed FDH sites.
• Utilize existing fiber-supporting infrastructure for optimal routing.
• Identify and mark splice locations along feeder paths.
• Produce detailed feeder fiber route drawings in DWG and PDF formats.

Pre-Construction Design & Planning — Pre-Design Cabling Analysis

• Map aerial and underground routes for fiber deployment.
• Verify existing utilities using SNET and copper network data.
• Establish MPT boundaries to segment service areas effectively.
• Strategically place splice points to define preliminary fiber counts.
• Plan and provision fiber counts across FSA boundaries.
• Verify accuracy and placement of aerial drops.
• Ensure proper fiber cable placement for performance, accessibility, and future scalability.

Educational Qualification

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geoinformatics, Computer Science, or related field.
• Certifications in FTTx Design, OSP Engineering, AutoCAD, GIS, or fiber planning tools (preferred, not mandatory).

Experience

• 3 to 10 years of experience in FTTx/OSP network design, fiber planning, or telecom infrastructure design.
• Hands-on experience preparing P408, feeder, and distribution fiber designs in CAD/GIS environments.
• Experience working with utility datasets, fiber planning tools, and telecom network engineering standards.
• Prior experience in FDH placement, FSA planning, and pre-construction fiber analysis is a strong advantage.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong understanding of FTTx/OSP engineering concepts, fiber routing, duct/utility infrastructure, and network architecture.
• Proficiency in CAD (AutoCAD/MicroStation), GIS tools, and OSP design platforms.
• Knowledge of FDH, MPT, splice planning, and P408 design standards.
• Ability to analyze field conditions, utilities, and existing infrastructure for accurate design decisions.
• High attention to detail with strong analytical and documentation skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with engineering, field teams, and clients.
